Christy Moore

I started getting the itch for Ireland this past week.....so I popped in my favorite Christy Moore CD tonight and I had a few Busch beers out on the rear deck! It was very nice being able to just sit out back and listen to nothing but the crack of my beers opening and Christy Moore:>)

I have been trying to catch Christy the past few years but have been unsuccessful....he does not come to the States any longer and his shows in Ireland always sell out quickly. I just missed him in Meath this past December 2008.

The following youtube clip has a pretty funny lead comment from Christy in regards to Margaret Thatcher before the song "Ordinary Man":>)

Another great song that Christy sings is The Lakes of Pontchartrain....it is about a poor Irish Imigrant who falls in love with a Louisiana Creole gal..he asks her to marry him but she declines because she is already spoken for.

Hopefully I can talk "The Real" Johnny Mac into going home in October....if not I'll be going on mi own:>)
