Good Morning Angels, Good Morning Charlie

Farrah enjoyed her Andy Warhol "15 minutes of fame" more than anyone but it is a damn shame that this 70's icon's death has been pushed back to the back pages because of Jacko's death!

In her day she was huge...Charlies Angels was one of the very first TV weekly's that featured women in feature roles that were not of the Petticoat Junction mode and she was all women...maybe not the brighest but she was real! Nothing created in the back room of a doctors office:>)

I still fondly remember all the chattah in classroom NG (No Good) at Malden Catholic over the postah.....Farrah, "We Will Rock you" and "More Than A Feelin" were the rave back in the mid 70's.

Grace & Joe

It's being reported over at Worcesteria that formah WooTown School Committee Membah Joe O'Brien may be considering a run for Mayor of WooTown....if this does happen then District 4 would have two viable candidates running for city wide City Councilor At Large in the next election, Grace Ross being the other candidate.

Grace & Joe make me look like Attila the Hun when it comes to politics....but it is interesting to possibly have two viable candidates from D4 running for city wide office in WooTown...even more interesting to note is that there still remains no one from within the Hispanic community in D4 or other WooTown urban Districts coming forward to run for political office......WooTown may be the 2nd largest city in New England but it is still woefully lacking in political leadership from within the Hispanic community and for that matter other minority groups within WooTown.

I have always respected the fact that Joe O'Brien has elected to live in Main South and be part of the effort necessary to make this part of WooTown better....it is not the safe route that many within WooTown leadership positions have taken.

It would be very interesting to see three from D4 sitting on the WooTown City Council - Haller, Ross & O'Brien.....and even tho Joe is aligned with the WooTown political bourgeois this would represent a major shift in leadership for WooTown and in my opinion be a very positive one for it.

Again, I am probably far to the middle of two of these candidates politically but as far as I am concerned it is a start and hopefully this will encourage more from within D4 to get involved politically and especially some nuevo blood!

A Product Of One Of Those Clintonian Programs In The Village Of Piedmont

A few weeks back our esteemed former President, William Jefferson Clinton was in WooTown to assist in raising some money for some of our local Dems....one of the honorees was proud to point towards Main South and proclaim that many of the great things happening on Main South were a by-product of Clintonian Programs initiated during the President's term:>)

I agree that credit should always be pointed in the right direction as well as the failures even tho I would have to sheepishly admit that I am not one to take criticism that well myself!

The above picture is a sure sign of one of the many failures of the "Clinton Years" as well as every other federal, state & local administration that fails to correct the abuses within the social service "deep" net that is not only bankrupting the country but also continuing to create layers of folks on the dole and a continued exodus of productive folks from our urban environments.

La Famiglia responsible for this hazardous waste left about our city property is originally from New York and then elsewhere...they packed the wagon up about a year ago and headed to WooTown kinda like the Clampetts headed to Beverly Hills because they heard there was a better way of life for them.....both la Famiglia's won the jackpot...one struck oil and the other a life on the dole via the good ole folks who get up and go to work each and every day.

A little history on this first floor la famiglia and others occupying other units- no one works...SSI checks, Mass Health letters, Sexy 8 letters get delivered to my house regularly.....5-7 living in the first floor unit in the house on a regular basis....not unusual for a birthday party a week and if you have never been entertained by one of these birthday celebrations that generally end about 3AM and the police showing up to break up a fight you have no idea what you are missing:>)

Anyway, about a year ago, I came home late one night to find a dumpster I had rented to clean out my basement filled:>)....yup, you guessed it, la famiglia next door at 224 Chandler Street figured it was for them....hay when you become so accustomed to uddah folks wiping yer arse for you daily and then asking was that good for you,why not??? So, I called important folks within the WooTown scene to report cause as we all know WooTown goes shite house when folks dump on WooTown property, so one would think/expect that the WooTown scene would understand the obsceneness of another resident pretty much invading anothers property with their garbage.....1+ year later this same la famiglia has not paid for this invasion of my property - the WooTown scene did clean the mess up at yer expense and mine but today this very same la famiglia continues their invasion of our city with their garbage and at no expense to themselves but to those of us trying to make a difference and we are out there.... a great expense has been paid and continues to be paid!!
*****************************************

Take a good look at the sag in the tree.....it was caused by the continual piling of debris around it and a wee lad who lives at 224 Chandler Street hanging on it...The WooTown Scene has been notified of this dozens of times..the Asian Longhorn Beetles get all of the press about destroying trees in this city.....my neighbors are given a free ride:>)

New Charles River Run 7.5M & 5Km.......an ole Boston chestnut

2009 Results

The New Charles River Run 7.5M & 5Km is a re-incarnation of the original Charles River Run that took place from the mid 70's (first running boom) until 1995.

I ran a few of them back in the early 90's and at the time it was one of my favorite races as well as longest distance that I ran back then...it was 7 miles back in the 90's and it started and ended in Daley Field on Nonantum Road in Brighton, MA

It was brought back to life in 2001 by me and Patsy French...it was my first race as a "professional"...meaning I got paid to host, direct and promote ...this all being said, I did not make a penny and at the time my new business venture did not look so rosey:>)

I am now enjoying my ninth New Charles River Run 7.5M & 5Km next Sunday on the Charles River and from the American Legion Marsh Post #442 in Cambridge, MA...9 years later and three venue locations have paid off as I closed out registration this year one week soonah than in 2008 and at an all-time high for registration - 2500 registered runners & walkers!

This event for me has been a classic example of sticking with something and being patient as it grew..it has now become a very nice business venture for my company as well as a great fund raising tool for a slough of local small non-profits.
